Hey there! Long time no talk. It’s been a crazy few weeks,

with rock star Becca graduating from Middle School

and rock star Mac graduating from High School!

Parenthood is wacky.

Anyway, the BazillionSongs / Od Tapo Imi / BazillionSongs Band train rolls on,

and I’m sooooooo ready for a rockin’ summer!

Working on a whole bunch of new material for both OTI and the solo show, too (gotta keep things fresh, you know).

If you’re looking to book me or either of the bands for a bash, block party, fest, what-have-you, drop me a line!

Lots of Saturday afternoons, Friday nights, and Sundays are available so BRING. IT. ON.

After a month off, I’m back to my Tuesday home sweet home at the Village Squire in South Elgin! This is a great place to bring the family to the show, have a great meal and listen to Parker & I make some noise. Hope to see you there! Shows start at 7:30.


The reaction to all the “PW and Family” concert YouTubes has been just incredible. Thanks so much for the responses & emails, etc. We all really appreciate it. Hopefully down the road we’ll some some opportunities to do the act for you guys here in Chicagoland.

Well, It's official - the band is now actually called The Bazillionsongs Band! I'm way happy and proud. Last Saturday at Cabana Charley's was such a blast, the four of us are just chompin' at the bit (whatever that means) to do more shows. So keep an eye out for us, we'll be coming your way again soon. In fact, we've just made ourselves available for summer parties, too! You can now contact me regarding solo AND band events!


And while we're talking about summer...NEW VENUE ALERT!!

Starting on Friday 5/15, I'll be making appearances at Hawthorne's Backyard Bar and Grill in West Chicago. A great summery place to take in an outdoor Bazillionsongs show! Really looking forward to this one; more details as they become available.

The Paul Willaert and Family show in Castle Rock CO is NEXT SATURDAY! Soooo exciting. Thanks to all of you who've asked and wished us well- I'll be just to get lots of pics, video, and audio for you.

This Saturday is the last scheduled show for who-knows-how-long for the fabulous Paul/Mac/Gerard/Jeff “Bazillionsong band”! I'm sure more shows will pop up as time goes by, but right now, between solo shows and OD TAPO IMI, this is the last one we actually have planned. So if you haven't seen us yet, hope you get a chance to come out and ROCK.

Well, kids, I gotta tell ya. The GumboPop debut show was definitely one of my favorite gigs of 2008. What a night, what a party! Any time you do your first show with a new act, you can't help but wonder how it will go over. Man oh man did it go over!

A very very huge THANK YOU to those of you who made it out to the show. Having you guys there totally made the night complete. Looks like there will be a lot more Gumbo-ing in the months to come, and I'll keep you posted.

We’re just one week away from GumboPop’s debut gig at Cabana Charley’s in Woodridge! NEW FUN THINGS FOR 2009

part one.

Boys and girls, I’m thrilled to introduce

GUMBOPOP

The Bazillionsong band!

This band is essentially a hybrid of Od Tapo Imi and a live 4-piece rock band version of my solo show! Picture all your favorite BZS party tunes, and a whole bunch of new stuff, all played with a “rockin’ Summer bash” flair, and you've got GumboPop!

The line-up:

Yours truly – Parker & lead vocals

Gerard Brill (OTI leader & steel drummer) – drum set and steel drums

Jeff Bella (OTI) – bassist extraordinaire

Mac Willaert- keyboards!!

Yup, bringing the boy into the family business at last! We have shows coming up at Cabana Charley’s awesome new place in Woodridge, on Dec 6, another in January, and many more will follow, so stay tuned! Not to worry though, the solo show and OTI are still going strong- just “diversifying my product offering” - lol

Just a quick scheduling note regarding Scarecrow Fest on 10/12 – my solo show now starts at 1:30, due to Radio Disney being there live right before my show (darn that Miley Cyrus). The prize? A 3-hour show by yours truly, wherever you decide to have it, any time in the Spring or Summer of ’09 – a $500 value!!

Starting this week, you’ll find a ballot box and envelopes next to my request lists at my shows. It’s easy- you fill out the info on the envelope, and put the envelope with your $20 entry fee in the box- tah dah! Proceeds will help send a member of St. Charles East HS Chorale to New York City, where they will be performing. So it’s for a nice musical cause to boot. C’mon out & play for your chance to have me and Parker do a 3-hour show just for you & your friends, your neighborhood, your company, your family…or heck, just for you if you want- lol.

The Hotel Baker's supercool Rox City Grill is having it's official Grand Opening celebration this week. Sadly, I’ve played my last show in the little makeshift bar they set up during the Rox's remodeling, but the good news is that the Rox is now my official exclusive home in downtown St. Charles! I’ll be there every Thursday and the 1st Friday of the month, and shows are still at 8 pm – see you there!

Ok, I’m very very excited about this one…one of my favorite shows of the year is always the St. Charles Scarecrow Fest, the area’s #! Fall event. And I’m thrilled to announce that this year, Sunday 10/12 is all-me, all-the-time! :^D

On that day - the fest's finale - Parker and I will be on the Main Stage for a full two-hour bazillionsongs show, starting at 12:30. And thennnn, right after my show, I’m playing with Od Tapo Imi at 3:00! So you bazillioheads who’ve never seen the band- here’s your chance. It’s gonna be a full SIX HOURS of me, Parker, and OTI, all at the best Autumn Festival in the Midwest!

My debut at the fabulous Key Wester in Naperville is tomorrow night, Wed 8/13!! Show starts at 8, and I’d looove to see some bazillopeeps out there. Please come on out if you can!

This Saturday is SHANAHAN’S 7th ANNIVERSARY BASH. That’s right- Tom, Nancy, me, and Parker have been joined at the hip for 7 years now! Shanahan’s and the BazillionSongs show were essentially born and raised together, and it’s still my official home base. Love the Shanahans, the staff, and the lunatics that always come to see me there. Come wish them/us a happy anniversary! Show starts at 9

And speaking of fabulous places to catch a show – OTI’s final performance of the year at Navy Pier is this Saturday. What a way to spend a Saturday afternoon…right on the lake in downtown Chicago, the food, the rides, the shops, and 4 hours of sonic sunshine from me & the od tapos!

OTI is doing a huge show tomorrow night at the Bolingbrook Performing Arts Center, as part of their "Concerts on the Hill" series. If you haven't seen the band yet, and can make the trip, this one will be soooooooooooooo worth it:

The O T I show at Navy Pier got rained out, sadly. Still, we managed to get about an hour-long set in, and got a nice YouTube of one of my originals- "Again and Again" !

What a great night last Friday - Spats Bar in Warrenville is AWESOME. Right by the Cantera theaters, it's a georgeous, hip bar, with an incredible sound system, indoor & outdoor seating, really great management & friendly staff...this place is real winner. I loved them, they loved me, and we're talking about more Fridays in the near future. All you Naperville/Warrenville-area Bazilliopeople, check Spat's out!


And speaking of cool new places, I dfid a last-minute show at Blu Razz in South Elgin last night! They've just started doing solo acts on Wednesdays and asked if I'd jump in this week, so heck, why not? Also a very cool local place to hang & see the show..

Brand new venue this Friday- I’ll be a Spats Bar in Warrenville from 8- midnight. Check out the website when you get a sec- looks like a fun night!

Speaking of fun (and I rarely speak of anything else)…I’ll be playing with OD TAPO IMI this Sunday at Navy Pier, on the Biergarten stage! What a great way to cap off the weekend, eh? Show starts at 5:00.


And home at last...my only June appearance at Shanahan's is this Saturday night! I'll also be there next Saturday, and that's my only July appearance there. So all you Shanahan's Bazillioheads, don't miss these shows- see ya there!

HOLY CATS what a night in Champaign last Saturday. My first festival headliner show with OD TAPO IMI - huge, rowdy, rockin' crowd, the band was on fire (figuratively, of course), gorgeous Summer night.... wow!!

Video from the show is now on www.myspace.com/bazillionsongs - featuring "Zoom Zoom" - a Santana-flavored original that will be on the new CD this Fall. The video doesn't even do the night justice, but at least you get a little taste of the band- enjoy!


My return to the FABULOUS Broken Oar in Port Barrington (and/or Cary) is THIS SATURDAY AFTERNOON! Show's been moved up to 1 pm, and will go til 5 pm (THANKS, Cyndie!!). It's like a Summer-long cookout/kegger/beach party there...come rock with us~
