This Saturday is SHANAHAN’S 7th ANNIVERSARY BASH. That’s right- Tom, Nancy, me, and Parker have been joined at the hip for 7 years now! Shanahan’s and the BazillionSongs show were essentially born and raised together, and it’s still my official home base. Love the Shanahans, the staff, and the lunatics that always come to see me there. Come wish them/us a happy anniversary! Show starts at 9
And speaking of fabulous places to catch a show – OTI’s final performance of the year at Navy Pier is this Saturday. What a way to spend a Saturday afternoon…right on the lake in downtown Chicago, the food, the rides, the shops, and 4 hours of sonic sunshine from me & the od tapos!

OTI is doing a huge show tomorrow night at the Bolingbrook Performing Arts Center, as part of their "Concerts on the Hill" series. If you haven't seen the band yet, and can make the trip, this one will be soooooooooooooo worth it:

Speaking of really fun OTI shows, last Sunday at Navy Pier was a party for the ages! Another really great fun place to see the band & make a day of it- we'll be back there one more time in August, and I'll be sure to let you guys know when it's coming up.
My dear friend G, Gint, Gintas, Gintmeister (amongst other aliases) is at it again. Web designer/graphic artist/musician/photographer/illustrator, etc etc, this gifted dude completely created and maintains our beloved bazillionsongs.com. What a great night last Friday - Spats Bar in Warrenville is AWESOME. Right by the Cantera theaters, it's a georgeous, hip bar, with an incredible sound system, indoor & outdoor seating, really great management & friendly staff...this place is real winner. I loved them, they loved me, and we're talking about more Fridays in the near future. All you Naperville/Warrenville-area Bazilliopeople, check Spat's out!

It begins.
WOOOHOOOOOO - Summer's here, kiddies! Loads & loads of gigs, news, &
fun! The nuttiness starts this week when me & OD
TAPO IMI play at US Cellular Field before the 6/7 Sox game! Game's at
6 pm, we play from 3:45- 5:45. Later that night, I return to Key
Lime Cove Resort in Gurnee. Show starts at 8pm.
Drumroll on your desk please..... ladies & gentleman, the Hotel
Baker's ROX CITY GRILL IS OPEN!!!! The place is beautiful, hip, cool...
and even better- they're keeping "my" bar open too! That's right,
the room we've grown to love over the last couple of months will still be
open as their bar every Thurs, Fri, & Saturday! Now the entire front of
the hotel is THE place to be every weekend for food, cocktails, music, and
atmosphere- wow. Many kudos to the folks at the Baker
-they've done an incredible job, & I'm proud to be such an part of it!

I had mentioned this a while back, but the Hotel
Baker's renovation has begun in earnest. The little lounge that has been
our "home away from home" for the last few years has been completely
gutted! When it's all said and done, it will be the hotel's super-cool new
restaurant and lounge, and will be about 2 1/2 times the size it is now- it's
gonna be BEAUTIFUL and cool and fun. In the meantime, we've relocated into
the party room right in the front of the Hotel, and it's AWESOME. Far from
a "it'll have to do" situation, it's actually a better set-up than
the old bar! More "nightclubby", more interactive, I love it! I'm
there Thursday and Friday this week, so come on by and check it out.
The first of the OD TAPO IMI "long
distance" gigs is next Wed - heading to Dallas TX! Not to worry, though,
Bazillionistas, I'll still be at the Squire
on Tues and the Baker on Thurs!

Can you believe it's Patty's Day already? Seems like the year just started
(although having said that, it's been a loooooooooong winter). And where else
would I be that night but my beloved Shanahan's Irish
Pub ?! I'm playing from 8-12, and I promise you, there won't be a better

This one's the first demo I've put together with OD
TAPO IMI in mind that's all my own, music, lyrics, and arrangement. Ironically
(or not), it's called "Me", and I'm mucho excited about it. It applies
some of the instrumentation and Caribbean rhythms that I'm learning from playing
with OTI, and still has a BazillionSongs
'flava' to it, too.
Hopefully it'll be one of the songs you hear when you come check us out on
the "Fest Circuit" this Summer ("Summer"... isn't
that a pretty word?). PLEASE check it out when you can, and let me know what
you think! I'd love to hear from you.
And speaking of OD
TAPO IMI .... my first show, last Sunday at the Arcada
Theater, was a major league blast. Great crowd, great time, and sheesh
these guys can play. Feeling like a great match, and we're all very anxious
to see where this leads! Be watching for audio/video from the show on the
websites in the weeks to come~

My big debut with as part of OD TAPO
IMI happens THIS SUNDAY, at the Arcada
Theater, St. Charles, at 2 p.m.. Could not be more excited about it! To
all of you Bazillionistas who have told me you're coming- THANKS! It means
a ton to me, really. For those of you that haven't.... well, C'MON, MAN. The
weather sucks, come get a 2 hour blast of Summer!! Bring the kids! Have a
tropical cocktail! Tickets are going fast, but good seats are still available~

Gearing up for my first rehearsal with OD
TAPO IMI this weekend! Learning heaping truckloads of new songs for my
first band project in years, don't be surprised if a number of them get added
to the ol' BazillionSongs menu. And I'm waaay excited about my upcoming debut
guest appearance at their Arcada Theater show on Sunday 2/10 - for ticket
